Kura Oncology leaps after CEO buys more stock

On Aug. 17, Wilson disclosed the purchase of 100,000 shares at a weighted average price of $11.12, per an SEC filing.
Wilson now owns 435,456 shares directly in KURA and holds 779,194 shares in two trust accounts.
Insider buying is often viewed as a signal of confidence in a firm's business prospects; transactions represent a significant investment by its top executive.
San Diego, California-based KURA has about 88.96 million shares outstanding for a market cap of about $1.1 billion.
On Aug. 12, the company reported a smaller-than-expected second-quarter loss and generated $9.1 million in net product revenue from sales of its blood cancer drug Komzifti.
KURA stock is now up about 49% in August, putting it up about 30% year to date.
Shares jump after additional insider purchase
Kura Oncology's KURA.O shares were up 7.4% to $13.32, their highest since Nov. 2024, in early Tuesday trade after its CEO disclosed an additional stock purchase.
CEO Troy Wilson bought 100,000 shares at a weighted average price of $12.39, worth about $1.2 million, on Monday, according to a regulatory filing.
