L3Harris completes NGI stage-two solid rocket motor hot-fire test
LHX•Hot-fire test supports NGI propulsion development
L3Harris completed a hot-fire test of its stage-two large solid rocket motor for the Missile Defense Agency’s Next Generation Interceptor.
The test ran a full-duration burn in a simulated high-altitude vacuum, supporting design validation ahead of advanced testing later this year.
The program role includes propulsion and control systems for NGI, positioning the company for the interceptor’s first flight test.
