L3Harris plans to open a 60,000-square-foot “Arsenal of Freedom” facility in Camden, Arkansas, later this year. The site will centralize solid rocket motor manufacturing for GMLRS propulsion units and use automation and robotics to increase throughput.
The expansion supports a $250 million Lockheed Martin follow-on contract to produce standard-range GMLRS propulsion units at a record program quantity. L3Harris said it has doubled GMLRS solid rocket motor output in recent years through added capacity and advanced manufacturing techniques.
