LE•Amazon Supply Chain Services launched on May 4, granting third-party access to its warehousing, trucking and delivery network; Lands' End joined Procter & Gamble, 3M and American Eagle as inaugural customers. 1. Amazon Supply Chain Services Debuts
On May 4, Amazon opened its warehousing, trucking and delivery infrastructure to outside brands through Amazon Supply Chain Services, allowing any company to leverage its logistics network for order fulfillment.
2. Lands' End Joins Inaugural Cohort
Lands’ End is one of the first clients enrolling in the service alongside Procter & Gamble, 3M and American Eagle, enabling the retailer to outsource fulfillment to Amazon’s distribution centers and delivery fleet.
3. Brand Implications for Lands' End
Routing orders through Amazon’s facilities may reduce Lands’ End’s control over packaging and delivery experience, potentially weakening its independent retail image and impacting customer perceptions of product provenance.
