Lantronix Open-Q 8550CS SOM wins Blue UAS Framework listing for defense drones
LTRX•Lantronix’s Open-Q 8550CS system-on-module won a Blue UAS Framework listing, clearing it for U.S. defense and government drone programs. The module targets up to 48 INT8 TOPS for on-device AI and underwent more than six months of review by DCMA.
1. Framework listing
The listing followed more than six months of cybersecurity, bill-of-materials, firmware, data-flow and supply-chain review by DCMA. Lantronix said drone makers can use the pre-vetted module instead of qualifying companion compute independently; the module uses Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QCS8550 and includes security features and a 10-year lifecycle.
