Las Vegas Sands Launches Three-Year Accelerator for Food-Waste Valorization
Las Vegas Sands and Sands China enrolled Macao NGO Sustaincia in their three-year Sands Cares Accelerator to support its development of technology converting bakery, rice and cooking oil waste into commercial products. The program includes funding, lab facilities and mentorship aimed at scaling food-waste valorization and fostering sustainable innovation.

Las Vegas Sands and Sands China have selected Macao-based NGO Sustaincia for a three-year program within the Sands Cares Accelerator. The initiative will focus on scaling technology to convert food waste—specifically bakery items, rice and cooking oil—into commercially viable products.

Under the program, Sustaincia will establish a community laboratory as a hub for research and innovation in food-waste valorization, collaborating with local entrepreneurs, scientists and academic partners to refine processes and develop new products.
