Laser Photonics Unveils Portable DTMF-1020 Laser for Military Rust Removal

LASELASE

Laser Photonics and Fonon Technologies introduced the portable DefenseTech MRLS Portable Finishing Laser 1020 (DTMF-1020) for on-the-go rust removal in military and marine infrastructure. The air-cooled, dual-axis pulsed fiber laser cleans at ~24 ft²/hour without abrasives, housed in a weatherproof case with integrated safety features.

1. Product Introduction

Laser Photonics and Fonon Technologies launched the DefenseTech MRLS Portable Finishing Laser 1020 (DTMF-1020) to the Department of Defense and military services, offering a field-ready solution for on-the-go surface preparation of marine and military infrastructure.

2. Key Features and Specifications

The DTMF-1020 is an air-cooled, dual-axis pulsed fiber laser that cleans approximately 24 ft² per hour at 110V/60Hz/15A, housed in a lightweight, weatherproof case and equipped with integrated emergency stops, key switches, interlocks and emission indicators.

3. Operational Benefits

By replacing chemical baths and abrasive blasting, the portable laser system minimizes hazardous waste and logistical burdens, delivers precise contaminant removal without damaging base substrates and supports maintenance, repair and overhaul operations in tight or complex environments.

4. Strategic Impact

Company executives emphasize that the DTMF-1020 expands the DefenseTech portfolio, enhances operational readiness for defense customers and supports sustainability goals by eliminating the need for grit blasting and chemical stripping.
