Laser Photonics Wins Accelerator Alley Spot, Spurs Global LSAD Defense Interest
LASE•Laser Photonics and Fonon were selected for Accelerator Alley at SOF Week 2026 in Tampa, generating SOCOM stakeholder feedback on the LSAD counter-UAS platform. Follow-on actions launched in U.S. defense and international markets, with evaluations of laser corrosion removal, airborne directed-energy integration, and BTS additive manufacturing systems.
1. Accelerator Alley Selection and LSAD Exposure
Laser Photonics and Fonon earned invitations to Accelerator Alley at SOF Week 2026 in Tampa based on sustained engagement with U.S. Special Operations Command and SOFWERX. Their LSAD counter-UAS platform was showcased to over 15,000 attendees, generating direct feedback from SOCOM acquisition stakeholders.
2. U.S. SOCOM Program Office Evaluations
SOCOM program offices actively evaluated Fonon’s laser corrosion removal solution for maritime maintenance, explored airborne directed-energy integration for Special Operations aircraft, and reviewed the BTS™ Bulk-to-Shape additive manufacturing system, with at least one office requesting a detailed technical submission.
3. International Defense Engagement
The LSAD platform attracted meaningful visibility across allied nations in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America, prompting discussions with prime contractors on potential integration paths and near-term foreign government contract opportunities.
4. Planned Global and TAA-Compliant LSAD Variants
Management outlined development of two LSAD configurations: a globally sourced version for allied partners and a TAA-compliant, non-foreign-sourced variant tailored for sensitive U.S. applications, aiming to meet a broad set of mission requirements.
