Lazard appointed Matt Spence as head of defense technology and emerging technology in its Technology Group, based in San Francisco.
Spence will advise defense, security, and other advanced technology companies on M&A transactions and financings.
He previously served as managing director and global head of venture capital banking at Barclays, building its defense-tech and dual-use investment banking franchise.
Earlier roles included senior posts at Guggenheim Partners, partner at Andreessen Horowitz, and national security roles in the U.S. government.
