Leggett Dynamics Launches 30×35 mm Mid-Class OEM Massage System, Award-Shortlisted
LEG•Leggett Dynamics launched its Mid-Class Massage System, a 30×35 mm non-electronic module using the Coandă effect to deliver premium seat massage beyond the luxury segment, reducing complexity and cost. In production with OEMs and shortlisted for the 2026 Automotive Tech Partnership Award, MCM’s integration could drive contracts and revenue.
1. Product Launch and Design
Leggett Dynamics introduced the Mid-Class Massage System (MCM), a compact 30×35 mm module that leverages the Coandă effect to create a massage experience without any electronics or moving parts. This breakthrough design simplifies seat architecture while delivering premium comfort traditionally reserved for luxury vehicles.
2. OEM Production and Integration
MCM has entered production with a global OEM under Leggett Dynamics’ co-development program, enabling plug-and-play integration as an island solution. Its non-electronic architecture avoids time-consuming electronic revalidation, allowing rapid updates on platforms not originally designed for complex seating systems.
3. Cost Reduction and Market Expansion
By eliminating motors, sensors and wiring, the non-electronic MCM reduces manufacturing complexity and unit cost, making advanced massage functionality accessible to mid-tier and high-volume vehicle programs. This positions Leggett Dynamics to expand comfort features across a broader range of automotive segments.
4. Industry Recognition and Next Steps
MCM was shortlisted for the 2026 Automotive Tech Partnership Award in recognition of its innovation and collaboration. The system was showcased at the Automotive Engineering Expo in Nagoya and will be featured at the Automotive Interiors Expo Europe in Stuttgart, with additional award considerations expected later this year.
