LDOS•Leidos reports new maritime autonomy results
Leidos disclosed new operational results for its maritime autonomy software, LAVA, in U.S. Navy exercises announced Sept. 8, 2026.
Leidos reported more than 200,000 autonomous nautical miles and 14,000 operating hours, supporting a push from trials into fleet operations.
Sea Hunter and Seahawk demonstration details
Sea Hunter ran autonomously more than 2,000 nautical miles from Pearl Harbor to San Diego, supporting surveillance at RIMPAC 2026.
Seahawk operated with the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, described as the first MUSV to deploy operationally with a carrier strike group.
Demonstrations included COLREGs-compliant collision avoidance, communications failover, remote control, Keep Out Zone avoidance, and GPS-denied navigation.
