Leidos will produce an initial 3,000 Low-Cost Containerized Munitions through a Department of War framework agreement, featuring a cruise missile roughly twice the size of its AGM-190A for enhanced range. The company is funding development and will expand its Huntsville, Alabama and McEwen, Tennessee facilities to begin production in 2027.

1. Framework Agreement and LCCM Design

Leidos secured a framework agreement with the Department of War to deliver an initial 3,000 Low-Cost Containerized Munitions (LCCM), leveraging a modular cruise missile design roughly twice the size of the AGM-190A to boost ground-launched combat capability and fuel capacity.

2. Development Timeline and Funding

Company-funded development began in December and has reached conceptual design approval; full system design, development and testing will pave the way for production to commence in 2027 under the NorthStar 2030 strategy.

3. Production Capacity and Workforce Expansion

Leidos plans to expand its workforce and upgrade manufacturing facilities in Huntsville, Alabama and McEwen, Tennessee, utilizing its established supply chain and Weapon Open Systems Architecture to rapidly scale defense production capabilities.
