Leifras Milabo Pilot Study Links Sports Engagement (r=0.43) to Academic Gain
LFS•LEIFRAS’s one-year study with 147 fourth-to-sixth graders at Tokyo’s Hachioji Takane Elementary School using the Milabo platform found non-cognitive skill growth correlated with a 0.21 increase in academic scores. Daily sports engagement showed r=0.43 correlation, and teachers used real-time feedback to customize learning.
1. Study Overview
LEIFRAS completed a one-year empirical research project at Hachioji Municipal Takane Elementary School in Tokyo, deploying its Milabo platform to assess non-cognitive skill development and academic performance among 147 students in grades 4–6.
2. Correlation Findings
Assessments conducted three times per year revealed a positive correlation of r=0.21 between non-cognitive growth and academic scores, and moderate correlations between sports engagement metrics (daily activity r=0.43, exercise desire r=0.40) and overall non-cognitive scores.
3. Non-Cognitive Metrics Improvement
Students exhibited upward trajectories across five proprietary non-cognitive indicators—courtesy and etiquette, leadership, cooperativeness, self-management, and problem-solving—facilitated by visual growth charts that enhanced metacognitive awareness.
4. Future Expansion Plans
Building on these findings, LEIFRAS plans to expand Milabo nationwide through partnerships with municipal governments, educational boards, and universities to scale its data-driven, individualized learning solution.
