Lessor Avolon orders 250 Boeing and Airbus jets, with option for 100 more
BA•Avolon agreed to order 140 Boeing jets and 110 Airbus aircraft, with an option for 100 more Airbus planes. The orders bring its total aircraft on order to 749, in addition to 561 it owns.
1. Aircraft orders
Avolon said it had agreed to order 140 Boeing 737 MAX jets, 75 Airbus A320neo planes and 35 A330neos. It has an option to buy 100 additional, unspecified Airbus aircraft.
2. Fleet commitments
The orders bring the Dublin-based lessor’s total aircraft on order to 749, on top of the 561 it currently owns. Avolon is a subsidiary of China’s Bohai Leasing.
