Lexaria reports 566% increase in CBD brain absorption in animal study
LEXX•Lexaria Bioscience said its ALT2 CBD formulation increased mean brain absorption by 566% versus a reference formulation eight hours after dosing in an animal study. It also reported three new patent applications covering tested formulations.

Lexaria Bioscience announced results from animal study GLP-1-A26-1 on October 15, 2026. The ALT2 CBD formulation increased mean brain absorption by 566% versus the reference formulation eight hours after dosing.
2. Absorption findings
All three alternative CBD formulations showed no statistically significant differences in blood plasma absorption versus the reference. The ALT2 semaglutide formulation performed best among alternatives, also with no statistically significant difference in blood plasma absorption versus the reference.
3. Patent applications
Lexaria said three new patent applications cover tested formulations, expanding its intellectual property options for commercialization.
