LG Corp. unit LG Display unveiled FLiPP, an FMM-less OLED pixel patterning process, at IMID 2026 in Busan.
FLiPP lifted brightness 1.6x, extended lifespan 2.4x, and reduced power use 13%, driven by a roughly 55% aperture-ratio gain.
The process enabled single-piece 8.5th-generation mother-glass production, raising utilization efficiency up to 64% versus divided-substrate approaches.
LG Display plans to start with IT panels, then broaden FLiPP output across sizes, targeting lower costs and higher production flexibility.
A separate OLED TV panel driving technology, Hyper Double Scanning, won IMID’s Display of the Year Award; mass production is underway.
