Life Time’s Chicago Spring Half Marathon Sells Out with 9,500 Runners, Adds New 5K

Life Time’s sold-out Chicago Spring event attracted 9,500 runners from 47 states and 35 countries, featuring a new 5K distance replacing the previous 10K. Over 200 students completed the inaugural Kids Run Final Mile, and a new Northbrook athletic club opens in June.

1. Sold-Out Chicago Spring Event

In its 17th year, Life Time hosted 9,500 runners from 47 states and 35 countries at the Chicago Spring Half Marathon & 5K, marking a complete sell-out for one of the city’s premier spring races.

2. Launch of New 5K Distance

The newly introduced 5K distance replaced the previous 10K, expanding access for beginners, families and returning participants along a fast, scenic course on Columbus Drive and the Lakefront Trail.

3. Kids Run Final Mile Initiative

More than 200 Chicago Public Schools students completed the inaugural Kids Run Final Mile after a multi-week training program, crossing the official finish line to earn medals and build lifelong healthy habits.

4. Expansion and Series Registration Incentives

Life Time plans to open a new Northbrook athletic country club in June, and runners registering for both the Spring and September Chicago half marathons will receive a commemorative third medal to encourage continued participation.
