Ligand appointed Peter Renehan, formerly a Principal at Blackstone Life Sciences with investment banking and corporate strategy experience, and Lee Brown, ex-Global Team Leader at Third Bridge and founder of Reef Knot Capital, as Vice Presidents of Investments and Business Development. Both will report to SVP Paul Hadden and focus on sourcing and executing royalty financing deals.

Lauren Hay, previously a leader in Ligand’s investment and investor relations teams, advanced to Vice President of Portfolio Strategy and Investments. In her expanded role she will identify new investment opportunities, collaborate with portfolio company executives, and optimize value across Ligand’s existing royalty assets.

These appointments deepen Ligand’s business development bench to accelerate deal flow in royalty financing, leveraging the new hires’ capital-structure expertise. Management expects the expanded team to enhance long-term value creation and support consistent revenue from Ligand’s diversified portfolio of over 100 biopharmaceutical royalties.
