Lightbridge receives Korean patent allowance for mixed-grid nuclear fuel design
LTBR•Lightbridge received a South Korean notice of allowance for a mixed-grid nuclear fuel assembly patent with 17 claims; registration remains subject to payment of a fee.
1. Patent allowance
The 17 allowed claims broaden protection beyond the rectangular-and-triangular grid combination covered by Lightbridge’s August 2022 Korean patent. The coverage includes mixed-grid arrangements without requiring specific grid shapes, supporting designs for pressurized heavy-water reactors, including CANDU types. Patent registration remains subject to payment of the registration fee.
