Lightspeed survey shows Halloween rivals Christmas for US millennials, 52% say as big or bigger
LSPD•Lightspeed’s survey-based analysis found 52% of Americans aged 25-34 consider Halloween as big as or bigger than Christmas; those planning to spend expect to spend an average of $146.13, compared with $105.90 nationally.
1. Halloween spending trends
Among Americans aged 35-44, 50% put Halloween on par with or above Christmas. Spending is led by food and drinks, home décor, and costumes or makeup, while 43% of 25-34-year-olds said they had traveled for Halloween events in the past two years.
