Lilly says FDA approves expanded first-line CLL/SLL use for Jaypirca
LLY•The FDA approved Lilly’s Jaypirca for first-line treatment of adults with CLL/SLL and no known 17p deletion. In a Phase 3 trial, the drug cut the risk of disease progression or death by 80% versus bendamustine-rituximab.
1. Expanded treatment use
The FDA cleared Jaypirca (pirtobrutinib) for first-line treatment of adults with CLL/SLL who have no known 17p deletion. The approval expands its use beyond patients with relapsed or refractory CLL/SLL previously treated with a covalent BTK inhibitor. It was based on the Phase 3 BRUIN CLL-313 trial, in which pirtobrutinib cut the risk of progression or death by 80% versus bendamustine-rituximab.
