Linde will invest USD 1 billion to expand its on-site industrial gases complex in Phoenix, Arizona, under a new long-term semiconductor supply agreement.
The plan calls for two new SPECTRA air separation units, adding to three existing units at the site.
The expansion will lift ultra-high-purity nitrogen, oxygen and argon supply for two new semiconductor fabrication facilities in Phoenix.
In Taiwan, joint venture Linde LienHwa plans about USD 800 million for new air separation units and hydrogen production tied to the same customer.
