LAC•A Cultural Resource Monitoring agreement is set for implementation in 2026, placing tribal monitors on future surveys, pre-construction, and ground-disturbing work.
Lithium Americas outlined expanded Indigenous engagement tied to Thacker Pass, centered on an amended Community Benefits Agreement with the Fort McDermitt Tribe.
The revised agreement increases the Tribe’s autonomy over how allocated funding is used.
USD 5 million was delivered to the Tribe’s Building Fund in June 2026 under the agreement. USD 0.4 million was contributed for workforce training, cultural monitoring, and administrative support.
