Stocks edge lower in choppy early trading
Major U.S. stock indexes are lower to little changed in choppy early trading on Friday, with Apple AAPL.O shares down more than 9% following a disappointing forecast and U.S. benchmark yields at their highest level since January 2025.
Offsetting the day's weakness is a rally in Amazon.com AMZN.O shares. Amazon is up about 14% after its cloud sales growth reinforced investor confidence in its massive AI spending.
