Lockheed debuts PAC-3 Edge interceptor for US Army Future Interceptor program
LMT•Lockheed Martin debuted PAC-3 Edge, an interceptor targeting hypersonic threats for the U.S. Army’s Future Interceptor competition, with development advancing in 2027, testing planned and rapid deployment targeted by 2031.
1. Interceptor development
PAC-3 Edge uses a Lockheed-built seeker developed at its Strigo Product Center, backed by a $250 million internal investment, and a Northrop Grumman multi-pulse solid rocket motor. The design targets higher performance at range and altitude than the PAC-3 MSE lineage.
