Lockheed Martin has begun constructing an 87,000-square-foot Alabama munitions facility to support THAAD interceptors and future NGI work as part of a $9 billion investment through 2030. The company also secured the role of preferred combat systems integrator for Australia’s nuclear submarine fleet under the AUKUS partnership.

Lockheed Martin has started constructing an 87,000-square-foot munitions production center in Troy, Alabama, dedicated to THAAD interceptors and future Next Generation Interceptor programs.

This facility is part of a broader initiative to inject over $9 billion into modernizing and expanding production across more than 20 U.S. sites by 2030, aiming to strengthen manufacturing capacity for missile and defense contracts.
