Lockheed Martin partners with GM Defense to speed PAC-3 MSE component production
LMT•Production partnership with GM Defense
Lockheed Martin entered a production partnership with GM Defense for PAC-3 MSE interceptor missile components.
The first mission-critical components were delivered in 22 days, supporting a faster ramp-up versus traditional lead times of months to years. The contract was signed Aug. 6, and the initial PAC-3 MSE housing components were delivered Aug. 28.
Capacity expansion for munitions demand
The collaboration targets the use of commercial casting and machining to meet defense specifications and scale output for U.S. munitions demand.
Lockheed Martin plans $8 billion to $9 billion in munitions capacity investments, including facility expansions across more than 20 U.S. sites.
