Lockheed Martin starts building two S-70 Firehawk helicopters for Czech Republic order
LMT•PZL Mielec starts production for Czech order
Lockheed Martin’s PZL Mielec started production in Poland of two Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk helicopters ordered by the Czech Interior Ministry.
The aircraft are being built via a partnership with Česká letecká servisní, a Helicopter Alliance company, with United Rotorcraft providing mission equipment integration.
The order establishes Europe’s first operational Firehawk fleet, intended for RescEU cross-border wildfire and emergency response deployments.
Each helicopter will be fitted with a 1,000-gallon water tank, retractable snorkel, twin engines, and night-vision capability.
