Lockheed Martin Wins $4.7 B PAC-3 MSE Contract and Plans European Maintenance Facility
LMT•Lockheed Martin and the US, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden signed a government-to-government pact at the 2026 NATO Summit to explore a PAC-3 missile maintenance facility in Europe, enhancing regional sustainment for PAC-3 MSE interceptors. In April the US awarded a $4.7 billion contract to triple PAC-3 MSE production capacity.
1. Government Agreement Signed
On July 7, 2026, at the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum in Ankara, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden signed a government-to-government pact with Lockheed Martin to explore a dedicated PAC-3 missile maintenance facility in Europe.
2. Facility Objectives
The proposed installation aims to deliver in-region sustainment for PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement interceptors by providing engineering, supply-chain management and rapid maintenance, boosting NATO’s integrated air and missile defense readiness against evolving threats.
3. Production Scale-Up and Contract
Following a January framework to triple PAC-3 MSE production capacity, Lockheed Martin secured a $4.7 billion US government award in April to accelerate manufacturing and meet growing global demand for advanced air defense missiles.
