1. Agreement and funding
Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky secured a Novel Production Agreement with the U.S. Army for 16 Black Hawk helicopters. The framework allows the Army to add aircraft as requirements emerge, with total orders expected to rise by more than 100. Deliveries are set to begin in 2028; initial funding comes from FY2025–FY2026 Congressional appropriations and additional support from the Army’s BEST divestment program.
