Loews Q2 2026 profit rises as CNA investment income and Loews Hotels earnings improve

Loews posted Q2 2026 net income of $444 million, up from $391 million, citing improved results across CNA, Boardwalk, and Loews Hotels.
- CNA contribution rose to $294 million as higher net investment income and fewer investment losses offset weaker P&C underwriting; the combined ratio worsened to 96.5%.
- CNA extended its long-term care portfolio duration to about 10 years via a $1 billion trade into 6.1% A+ long bonds from 5.2% BBB+ bonds.
- Boardwalk contribution increased to $100 million; EBITDA rose to $279 million on higher contracting rates and product sales.
- Hotels contribution climbed to $48 million; adjusted EBITDA rose 26% to $137 million as occupancy reached 81% and ADR increased 7%.
