Lucid, Nuro and Uber unveiled a production-intent robotaxi at CES 2026 built on the Lucid Gravity platform with integrated lidar, cameras, radars and NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor compute, seating six with LED halo lights. On-road testing commenced in December in the San Francisco Bay Area for a 2026 launch.

1. Lucid Gravity Wins MotorTrend Best Public Charging Experience

Lucid Group announced that its Lucid Gravity SUV was honored by MotorTrend’s 2026 Best Tech Awards for the Best Public Charging Experience, a distinction grounded in extensive testing of automotive software and hardware. The award recognizes Lucid’s integration of a high-efficiency powertrain, native NACS compatibility and an ultra-fast charging battery system capable of accessing over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers and thousands of Electrify America stations via Plug & Charge. Lucid’s proprietary Range Spider Route Planner further enhances the customer experience by providing real-world range estimates and mapping all available fast-charge points, reinforcing Lucid’s leadership in charging convenience and efficiency.

2. Lucid, Nuro and Uber Unveil Robotaxi Production Intent Vehicle at CES

At CES 2026, Lucid joined Nuro and Uber to debut a production-intent variant of the Lucid Gravity-based robotaxi, marking a key milestone toward commercial launch in the San Francisco Bay Area later this year. The vehicle features a next-generation sensor array—high-resolution cameras, solid-state lidar and radar—integrated into Gravity’s body and a purpose-built halo module. The Uber-designed interior delivers personalized controls for climate, seating and entertainment, plus real-time visualization of the vehicle’s perception and planned path. Nuro has begun supervised on-road testing in the Bay Area, and production is slated to start at Lucid’s Arizona plant by year-end, positioning the partnership to scale level-4 autonomy on a seven-passenger platform.

3. Record Production and Delivery Growth in 2025

Lucid more than doubled its vehicle production in 2025, building 18,378 units—a 104% increase over 2024—and achieved deliveries of 15,841 vehicles, up 55% year-over-year. In the fourth quarter alone, Lucid produced 8,412 vehicles (up 116% sequentially) and delivered 5,345 units (a 31% sequential increase), driven largely by the ramp of the Gravity SUV. These results reflect successful execution against a lowered production guidance of approximately 18,000 units and set the stage for the planned introduction of Lucid’s new mid-sized EV platform in 2026, targeting a sub-$50,000 price point to compete in the high-volume cross-SUV segment.
