Lumen partners with Emerald AI to develop energy-aware AI workload routing

An investment in Ohio State University research will explore how deployed fiber can support long-distance quantum networking and distributed sensing. Lumen’s Fortinet-based SASE solution will add post-quantum cryptography, with initial availability in November 2026 and general availability planned for January 2027.
