Madison Square Garden Sports completed the separation of its New York Rangers business at 11:59 p.m. ET on October 26, 2026. The remaining company changed its name to MSG Knickerbockers, and newly formed MSG Rangers began trading on the NYSE the next day. Stockholders received one MSG Rangers Class A or Class B common share for every two corresponding MSG Knicks shares held on October 20; the distribution represented all outstanding MSG Rangers shares.
