MAHLE unveils Range Extender system for battery-electric trucks, targets 800-km-plus range

MAHLE said the system offers more than 80% lower operating CO₂ versus diesel, aligning it with tightening emissions rules and customer decarbonization targets.
The company expects regulatory recognition in EU and Germany truck-toll rules to strengthen the commercial case for Range Extender-equipped trucks.

MAHLE unveiled a Range Extender system for battery-electric trucks at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, targeting long-haul electrification adoption.
Positioned to improve fleet economics and operational flexibility, the system is intended to support a faster switch to low-emission drivetrains across road freight.
