A series of deals has linked Chinese biotech companies with global drugmakers. The latest include Roche’s agreement with Hansoh Pharma, valued at more than $15 billion in potential payments, and Eli Lilly’s collaboration with METiS TechBio, worth up to about $1.1 billion. Chinese biotechs often retain domestic rights while licensing drugs overseas for upfront and milestone payments and royalties.
