Manus raises more than $500 million after Meta exit
META•Butterfly Effect, Manus’ parent company, completed a funding round of more than $500 million after resuming independent operations following the unwinding of Meta’s acquisition.
1. Funding round completed
Butterfly Effect said it completed a funding round of more than $500 million. Boyu Capital and IDG Capital co-led the round, which also included existing investors Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund.
2. Independent operations and IPO
Manus develops general-purpose AI agents that can carry out tasks such as research and automation with minimal human input. A source familiar with the matter said Manus would not begin the process for a Hong Kong IPO until at least 2027. Manus was reportedly considering a joint-venture structure incorporated in China that could pave the way for a Hong Kong listing.
