Margaret Qualley drawn to 'emotional ride' of romantic drama 'Love of Your Life'
AMZN•Margaret Qualley said the script for “Love of Your Life” drew her in with its emotional story. The film began a brief theatrical release on October 7 and will stream globally on Amazon Prime Video on October 14.
1. Qualley’s emotional response
Qualley said she was “blown away” by the script and cried while reading it. She plays Maya, a Boston nurse whose romance with Charlie, played by Gabriel Basso, takes a tragic turn and sends her on a journey across several years and countries.
2. Pandemic-era story
The film’s story reaches March 2020 and the onset of the pandemic. Qualley spoke with emergency-room nurses who worked through COVID-19 to prepare for the role, which director Rachel Morrison described as part of getting the details right and honouring those who put their lives on the line. The cast also includes Patrick Schwarzenegger and Catherine Keener.
