Markel named CEO Tom Gayner chairman, succeeding Steve Markel, who will retire as chairman and exit the board at the 2027 meeting.
Leadership promotions in insurance and ventures
Simon Wilson was promoted to co-president and will take on CEO of Markel Insurance. He previously served as executive vice president.
Andrew Crowley was also promoted to co-president and will take on CEO of Markel Ventures. He previously served as executive vice president.
