Phil Amlot has been promoted to Head of Trade Credit for Markel International, effective immediately after 16 years with the company. He will be responsible for developing global trade credit strategy, driving profitable growth across teams in London, the US and Asia and supporting broker partners with innovative underwriting solutions.

Phil Amlot has been named Head of Trade Credit for Markel International effective February 10, 2026. He reports directly to Carl Titterton, Divisional Managing Director of Trade Credit, Political Risk and Surety.
2. Strategic Responsibilities
In his new role, Amlot will lead long-term strategy and profitable growth for trade credit across global teams in London, the US and Asia. He will also support broker partners and drive innovative, solution-led underwriting to enhance Markel’s market position.
3. Background and Experience
Amlot joined Markel in 2010 as a senior underwriter and established the US Trade Credit operation in 2014. Promoted to Head of Underwriting – Trade Credit in 2020, he brings 16 years of experience in trade credit and risk management.
