Markel Insurance has named Phil Jones as Chief Information Officer, International, to spearhead technology modernization and data strategies across its five regional markets. Jones, who will report to COO Carys Lawton-Bryce from London, brings experience as Global CIO at Aspen Insurance and senior roles at MoD, Prudential UK, and Lloyds.

Markel Insurance has named Phil Jones as Chief Information Officer, International, effective immediately. Based in London, he will report to COO Carys Lawton-Bryce and collaborate with global security and IT teams to define and deliver the technology vision across five regional businesses.

In his new role, Jones will focus on strengthening system resilience, enhancing service quality and accelerating innovation through modernized digital infrastructure and advanced data-driven processes across Markel International.
3. Professional Background
Jones joins from Aspen Insurance, where as Global CIO he led cloud transformation, cyber-defense initiatives and a global technology workforce. His prior roles include Executive Director of Service Delivery at the UK Ministry of Defence and senior technology leadership positions at Prudential UK, Lloyds Banking Group and ATOS Consulting.
