Marvell Stock Rallies on Huang's Praise as Nvidia H100 Heads to Orbit
NVDA•Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's bullish comment on Marvell Technology spurred that stock's rally, highlighting Nvidia's ecosystem influence. Meanwhile, Starcloud has launched an Nvidia H100 GPU into orbit for AI workloads as SpaceX seeks approval for one million satellites and Google readies AI data satellites for 2027.
1. Huang's Bullish Shout-Out
On June 3, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang publicly praised Marvell Technology's networking chips, driving Marvell shares higher and underscoring Nvidia's influence across its supplier network. The endorsement highlights Nvidia’s ability to shape partner valuations and reinforces confidence in its ecosystem strategy.
2. H100 GPU Powers Orbital AI Workload
Starcloud successfully launched an Nvidia H100 GPU into orbit to run AI inference tasks, marking a first for GPU-based space data centers. SpaceX has filed to deploy up to one million satellites and Google plans prototype AI data satellites for 2027, signaling big tech’s push into orbital compute.
3. Economic Hurdles for Space Data Centers
Although solar panels in orbit generate five-to-eight times more power than ground-based equivalents, vacuum conditions require large radiators and cosmic radiation risks reliability. Space data centers currently cost about four times more per watt than terrestrial facilities, meaning broader adoption depends on cutting launch costs well below $500 per kilogram.
