Mastercard profit jumps as stable spending drives transaction volumes

July 30 (Reuters) - Mastercard MA.N posted a rise in second-quarter profit on Thursday, boosted by robust transaction volumes driven by steady consumer spending.
Its net income climbed to $4.4 billion, or $4.97 per share, in the quarter, compared with $3.7 billion, or $4.07 per share, a year earlier.
