Matador closes Ridge Runner deal, adds 13,600 net acres in core Woodford play
MTDR•Matador closed the Ridge Runner acquisition of about 13,600 net acres, lifting its Woodford position to about 50,000 net acres. The deal added more than 150 net operated drilling locations, and the company plans up to 15 Woodford wells by year-end 2027.

Matador closed the Ridge Runner acquisition, adding about 13,600 net acres in the core Woodford shale play and bringing its position there to about 50,000 net acres. The position was assembled across more than 400 transactions at an average of $4,000 per acre; the deal added more than 150 net operated drilling locations at about $1.3 million per net location.
2. Wells and development plans
Matador said its Rae's Creek Woodford well averaged over 1,000 barrels of oil per day during its first 100 days and produced more than 100,000 barrels. A second Woodford well is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026, with up to 15 wells planned by year-end 2027.
