Matador Resources agrees to buy Paloma Permian assets for $1.28 billion cash

A separate Ridge Runner acreage deal expands Matador's Woodford position to about 50,000 contiguous net acres, lifting Delaware Basin acreage to about 240,000 net acres.
Matador said its Rae’s Creek Woodford test well in Lea County posted initial production above 2,200 BOE/day, 72% oil, supporting commercial development plans.
Matador to buy Paloma Permian assets for cash
Matador Resources agreed to buy Paloma Permian for a cash payment of $1.275 billion, adding producing assets in Southeast New Mexico.
The deal includes 16,235 net undeveloped acres in Eddy and Lea counties, third-quarter output of about 11,100 BOE/day, 57% oil; closing is expected in Q4 2026.
The acquisition adds $816 million PV-10 as of May 31, 2026, with 55 million BOE of proved reserves.
