Mauritania signs two offshore contracts with Murphy Oil
MUR•Mauritania signed two production-sharing contracts with Murphy Oil for the C10 and Tiof offshore blocks.
1. Offshore contracts signed
Mauritania’s energy ministry signed production-sharing contracts with Murphy Oil for the C10 and Tiof offshore blocks. The company and Chariot Oil had applied in July for access to three offshore blocks, an energy official said.
2. Gas development plans
Mauritania and Senegal want to use offshore gas resources from the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project and other fields for liquefied natural gas exports and to boost domestic industries. The ministry said the signing would provide momentum for offshore exploration and development of Mauritania’s oil and gas potential.
