Medmix and Xeris collaborate on XP-8121 injector development
Medmix entered a collaboration with Xeris Pharmaceuticals to support development of XP-8121, an investigational once-weekly subcutaneous levothyroxine therapy.
The partnership centers on medmix’s Haselmeier D-Flex disposable pen injector as the preferred device platform for XP-8121 dosing.
D-Flex design verification testing showed dose accuracy exceeding ISO 11608-1 requirements, a key factor for narrow-therapeutic-index levothyroxine.
The platform supports fixed-dose configurations, blocks unintended intermediate settings, and targets 0.005 mL dose increments, up to 0.75 mL volumes.
D-Flex has been marketed since 2023 and is already used in an approved European product variant, aimed at reducing device novelty and development risk.
