Merck, Moderna therapy cuts melanoma recurrence or death risk 42% in Phase 3 trial
MRNA•Merck and Moderna said their investigational intismeran autogene and Keytruda combination reduced the risk of melanoma recurrence or death by 42% in a Phase 3 trial. The partners are engaging with regulators; overall survival data remain immature.
1. Phase 3 findings
The INTerpath-001 trial found the combination significantly reduced recurrence or death and distant metastasis or death compared with Keytruda alone in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma. No new safety signals emerged, and overall survival data remain immature, with a favorable trend observed.
2. Next steps
The results are due to be presented for the first time at the ESMO Congress 2026 Presidential Symposium. Merck and Moderna said they are engaging with regulatory authorities based on the findings.
