Mercury General Q2 FY26 net income rises 58.3% to $263.5 million; net premiums earned increase 9.6% to $1.5 billion

- Mercury General Q2 GAAP net income rose 58.3% to USD 263.5 million, lifting diluted EPS 58.1% to USD 4.76.
- Operating income (non-GAAP) increased 31.9% to USD 195.2 million; the GAAP combined ratio improved 2.6 percentage points to 89.9%.
- Net premiums earned climbed 9.6% to USD 1.5 billion, while net realized investment gains net of tax more than doubled to USD 68.3 million.
- Catastrophe losses net of reinsurance widened to USD 75 million from USD 13 million, driven mainly by wildfire reserve development and storms in Texas and Oklahoma.
- Mercury declared a quarterly dividend of USD 0.3175 per share, payable Sept. 24 to shareholders of record Sept. 10.
