Mercury Systems To Provide SSDRs for 18 L3Harris Tranche 3 Satellites

MRCYMRCY

Mercury Systems won an L3Harris contract to supply radiation-tolerant solid-state data recorders for 18 infrared satellites in the SDA’s Tranche 3 Tracking Layer constellation. The award marks deployment of Mercury’s highest-capacity 3U VPX SSDRs, building on deliveries across Tranche 0, 1 and 2 programs.

1. Contract Award Details

Mercury Systems secured a contract from L3Harris to deliver radiation-tolerant solid-state data recorders for 18 infrared satellites under the U.S. Space Development Agency’s Tranche 3 Tracking Layer, following L3Harris’s December award to build the satellite constellation.

2. Advanced SSDR Capabilities

Under this contract, Mercury will supply its highest-capacity SSDRs in a 3U VPX form factor, engineered for high performance and long-term data integrity to support real-time detection of hypersonic and ballistic missile threats.

3. Strategic and Operational Impact

The Tranche 3 award extends Mercury’s production role across all four SDA tracking layer tranches, drives expansion of its manufacturing capacity, and strengthens its position in mission-critical space processing and missile tracking architectures.
